Spanish as a Second Language

Round Rock Presbyterian Church Spanish as a Second Language Project is intended for those who desire to learn or add to their experience with Spanish. This will help them to better understand and respond to those whose primary language is Spanish especially as encountered in Texas. The daily lives of English speaking Texans have regular encounter with those who have limited ability with English and rely on Spanish as their main form of communication. This is especially true of those in mission of the church working at a food pantry, delivering to shut-ins, feeding the homeless, etc. The project started in 2011 as a proposal to the Session of the church to start a class of those interested in learning basic skills with Spanish or in building on already existing skills. This class now meets every week on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the church. Future plans including other educational opportunities including classes for those outside our church family who serve in mission efforts as indicated above.

Those interested should contact Sarah Griffin or Patricia Mechler who are teaching this class or Don Dameron who is the project coordinator.
