Music Ministry
Round Rock Presbyterian has many music programs that allow for all our members to be an active part of worship through the beautiful sound of music. We have programs for all ages and all are welcome no matter your skill or ability level.
Our Music Director, Steve Moreland, joined RRPC in July of 2011. Steve earned his Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Music degrees from Stephen F. Austin State University. Since arriving in Austin in 2009, he has served as an administrator and instructor of Georgetown Music Studio, the Director of Bands for Veritas Academy of Austin, and is the Owner/Music Director of The Vintage 15 jazz ensemble. Most recently Steve served as the director and Worship Leader for Wild Ride Ministries in Harper, Texas.
Sanctuary Singers Choir
Our traditional choir is open to all who wish to sing praises to God. The choir meetings every Wednesday night from 7:30-9:00 p.m. in our Sanctuary and performs at the 11:00 a.m. service each week. During the summer the choir does take a break but with the start of school so starts the choir. The Choir sings a variety of songs from traditional to newer versions of classics.
Praise Team
The Praise Team consists of singers and musicians who lead the music in the 9:00 am contemporary service. They practice on Thursday evenings at 6:30 pm (musicians) and 7:30 pm (including singers). The Praise Team always keeps an open mike for any who would like to participate.
Grace Notes Bell Choir
Our Adult Bell Choir is open to Students and Adults and rehearses every Wednesday from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary. This group performs at least once a month during the 11:00 a.m. Worship Service. Never played the bells? Don't worry, we will show you what to do and there is always room for more. Come enjoy the glorious sound the Hand Bells make to the Glory of God.
Kingdom Kids Hand Chimes
This children's hand chime group is for children grades K-5th grade and is lead by volunteer Sheila Griffin. The group will meet every Sunday from 10:40-11:00 a.m. following the bible study portion of Children's Sunday School. If your children are interested in joining this group you must sign them up by contacting Sheila Griffin at smgtexas@hotmail.com .
Christmas Choir and Christmas Bell Choir
Not up for singing all year round then join us for our special Christmas Program on December 18th and for the Christmas Eve services. If you are interested in building our choir and bell choir to play magical music please contact Steve at smoreland@roundrockpresbyterian.org .
