| Senior Pastor | My life verses:
“Trust in the Lord with ALL of your heart (Dave) and do not lean on you own understanding. Acknowledge Him in all your ways and He will direct your path.” Proverbs 3:5-6
"For I want to know Christ and the power of His resurrection and the sharing of His sufferings by becoming like Him in His death; if somehow I may attain the resurrection from the dead.”
Philippians 3:10-11
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ!
My name is Dave Peters! I’m married to the bride of my youth, Jacalyn, for over 30 years! Jac directed and taught preschool for 15 years but has recently been recovering from Mercury Poisoning. We have three wonderful, adult children who are all married and serving the Lord in their own ways. Our eldest daughter, Jennifer, is married to Mike; they have a 2 year-old daughter, Fatima, and are expecting their second child in January. Jenni and Mike are a missionary family in Mexico City, working closely with the Brothers of Charity. Our son, Brian, is married to Kellye and they have an almost 3 year-old son, Mason, and are expecting their second child in April. They live in Waco and we are enjoying seeing more of our grandson! Brian and Kellye are quite active in their church and serve as Life Group advisors. Our youngest daughter, Jodi, is married to Javon and they have two sons, Jaden and Jace, and are expecting their third child in April. Javon is teaching and coaching football in Northern California. Jodi has her masters in Special Education and has taught high school Biology in Southern California but is now enjoying staying home with her sons. A whole new world was opened up to us in 2003—GRAND parenting! By the summer of 2007—we will be enjoying 7 GRANDS under the age of 4! Nothing like it in all the world.
I am a second-career pastor. After graduating from NMSU (Kirksville, MO) in 1976, I worked in the automotive industry managing a GMC truck franchise and two Goodyear dealerships for 20 years. During the busy time of my young family’s life, I heard the “Good News” and accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior (1981.) Slowly, steadily and surely God transformed my life. In 1984 I attended a renewal weekend (Cursillo/Tres Dias/Walk to Emmaus.) What a powerful experience this weekend provided me with: living a life of grace! God’s grace calls me to seek a deeper relationship with Christ daily. In 1994 I changed careers and entered seminary. In 1997 I graduated with my Masters of Divinity from the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary. My first call was to Aurora, MO as solo pastor where I served for 18 months. In August of 1999 I was called to First Presbyterian Church of Upland, California, as Associate Pastor and I served there joyfully for seven years. I was called to serve Round Rock Presbyterian Church as Senior Pastor in September of 2006! I look forward to all that God has planned for us here. People are my hobby and I love to share God’s love and grace wherever I go.
My priorities for ministry are:
- To love God with all of my heart
- To love my wife and family with all of my heart
- To love the church that God calls me to serve with all of my heart.
If you don’t have a home church, join us! If you have any questions, give me a call. God is doing a special work in this area and it is exciting to be a part of all God has planned!
God loves you and so do I! See you Sunday!

| Church Administrator | Brenda is a native Texan and has lived in the Central Texas area most of her life. She is a business professional with extensive background in administrative management, ranging from the medical profession to the manufacturing industry. Brenda has been with our church since 1992 and is a valued asset to the church ministry. Her husband Russ is the pastor of Harvest Baptist Church in Georgetown, Texas, where they reside with their son, Michael. Russ and Brenda are also members of a southern gospel trio, singing with her sister Sherry McAnally. Their group, Simply Family, loves to sing at community festivals and church gatherings to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Brenda’s dad was a Baptist preacher and she came to know the Lord at the tender age of 11. She has been active in church most of her life. Brenda currently leads the women’s fellowship and is the pianist at her church in Georgetown. She also enjoys reading, watching old movies, beading, and spending time with her family. She feels honored to be part of Round Rock Presbyterian Church and has come to think of this congregation as part of her church family.

| Children's Ministry Director | I was born in Ohio, but consider myself a Texan after moving to Austin when I was seven. I was raised in the Presbyterian Church, being an active member of Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian in south Austin for over 20 years. At the tender age of ten, I met my husband (then “cute boy” in my mother’s Sunday School class). After several years as friends, moving apart and then finding our way to each other again, we married in 1998. Together we have two beautiful boys, Chance and Cooper, who keep us both very busy. We made the move to Round Rock in April of 2005 and have enjoyed every aspect of the area! In my “free” time, I enjoy reading suspense novels, taking pictures, sewing and selling AVON.
I grew up with the love of children. I was always the teacher to the dolls in the yard, leader (and sometime class clown) to the kids at school. I have been actually working with young children since high school. I started out as an after school counselor, then moved into a lead teaching position for four-year-olds at a day care center. After moving several times, I settled down and began a family. After my first son was born I realized how much I missed teaching and found a position at my church with the four-year-olds. I was sad to leave when my second son was born, but the move to Round Rock brought new adventures. I was offered the position as Art Teacher at the boy’s new preschool. Never did I think I would enjoy the position, but as the year went on, I realized I was made for the job! I am staying on at Palm Valley as the Art Teacher and have recently accepted the position of Director of Children’s Ministry at Round Rock Pres. Working with children brings me immense joy and satisfaction. I am coming to the position with wonderful ideas and great energy. My mission is to help raise our children with a strong love and knowledge of Christ while having fun at the same time. I have been truly blessed in my adult life. Daily, I feel a stronger connection with God and my church. This seems to be my time and I am willing to run with it with great voracity and delight!
